modern les paul customs either have '57 reissue humbuckers or they have 490r/498t combinations.
IM almost certain that Mike's deluxes have been fitted with p-90s instead of p-100s.

the 56 or 57 came with p90s, i have a 56 reissue and it came with the p90s.

early Les paul "standard" goldtops from the 1950's came stock with p-90 pickups however these werent known as deluxes. In 1957, gibson replaced the p-90 pickups with the famous "PAF" humbuckers.
Les paul deluxes were produced from 1969 through 1985 and all were produced with mini-humbuckers with the exception of a small amount in 1969 that did come stock with p-90s and a few from 1972-1976 that came stock with full size humbuckers. If your deluxe has p-90s and its not from 1969 then they arent the original pickups in that guitar.
dont get me wrong, other les paul models came with p-90s but im only talking about deluxes here.

I believe Mike's guitar has to be a pre 75 opposite to what was mentioned earlier because the Les Paul Deluxe guitars from that time already had the hideous and ugly large headstock and Mike's still has that small headstock of the early production, so my fair guess is that his is a 69 or early 70 Deluxe and at that time they were fitted with P90's before Gibson changed those to the Epiphone mini Humbuckers.
But from what I read, he uses a whole bunch of Gold Tops...

I believe the P90s in Mike's guitar are Seymour Duncans too.
I've read somewhere that Mike does indeed use SD P-90s. The "Custom" P-90 which actually uses ceramic magnets vice Alnico in most standard P-90s. ALthough I can't say he uses these in every one of his LPs. I've got a set in a Hamer that sound great, although I prefer vintage P-90s myself.
I tend to agree that Mike's main LP (Orange County) being closer to the mid 70s. In just about all the pics I have of him with it it apprears to be the slightly larger headstock (not the smaller associated with 50s bursts), which is right on with a few of my LPs from the early/mid 70s and very early 80s. But, it's hard to say for sure what year as the early/mid 70s are extremely hard to date even by serial number. Probably the best way would be dating the pots (if they were original).

Er, speculation is always fun, but that source I posted above was of an interview of Mr Ness himself from October.
